My Wish

I wish I could be a mix of Lupita Nyong'o's beauty, Ricky Gervais' confidence, Stephen Fry's intelligence and wisdom, Tina Fey's writing and managerial skills, Jimmy Fallon's happiness, the lovable vulgarity of a British comedian, the story telling abilities of Steven Moffat, the energy of Robin Willaims (Rest In Peace), the goodness of Tom Hanks, and the generosity of my mother.

I'm sure there are even more I adore and forgot to remember, but I wish I could be like these people...I wish. But you make our own dreams come true so I will see how it goes!

Wilfred

OKAY, have you watched Wilfred? it's the show about a guy (Ryan) who talks to his neighbor's dog, which is actually a man dressed in a dog suit and no one can see that its a man in the suit except Ryan. Wilfred is the dog and he is crazy, is in a relationship with a stuffed bear, and smokes a lot of pot. It is really hilarious, I love it so much. Their relationship is adorable and hilarious. So watch it okay. It's a really smart show!

Death In Paradise Mid- First Season thoughts

So, as it is Spring Break and I love tv shows and films I have been watching Netflix! I love British tv so I had a couple shows on my list. I randomly picked "Death in Paradise" off of the list and I really like it! It stars Ben Miller, Gary Carr, Danny John-Jules, and Sara Martins. I get Sherlock Holmes mystery vibes because of the great complexity of the crime and how the motive or killer is revealed in a very intelligent way. I love Sherlock Holmes books and films, the one with Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law is my favorite version, though the show with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman is really great too. Richard Poole, played by Ben Miller, is kind of a Sherlock Holmes, he is very smart, very grumpy, and has big moments of realization about the crime he is trying to solve. He isn't a lovable but bragging know-it-all like the other Sherlocks I have seen, he is a British DI (I learned that means 'Detective Inspector') who is in the Caribbean with a smart group of officers working for and alongside him. The characters are interesting but lack depth, I am only 3/4 done with the first season but I feel as if I should know a bit more about them by now. Also I enjoy the show actually being filmed in the Caribbean instead of cheaply made in a fake sound stage or some crap. And what I love most of all is that I  do not know who is the killer until the writer want me to know. And when I think I know I'm wrong, it is not predictable.  Loving it!

The second SH movie was my favorite, and the third one is coming!

Spotlight Movie

As far as movies go I think it was fine, not  particularly entertaining but quite interesting and had a important subject. It was basically the film version of a newspaper article.  The colors were drab, it was 2001 and 2002 and it was set in a office but goodness was there a lot of khaki. The acting was fine but I could not keep my eyes off of Liev Schreiber's terrible hair and Rachel McAdam's wiggy hair style, but I don't know it was the 2000s. But Mark Ruffalo, Stanley Tucci and Michael Keaton's performances were good and the stories did hit me, and made me angry at institutions and blind loyalty, and there is too much of that going on. But I also didn't feel like I cared about any of the characters, it was the story the story the story and the victims and the victims and the victims which deserve the utmost attention but I wanted to know about the characters, if I wanted to know about the story I would have watched a documentary. I'm not a film reviewer but this was my view of the film. I love grit, I like humanity, I like drama; a film should make you feel good, warm, change your view, give you a lesson, and this made me want to play a game on my phone a some points. When I watch a film I like I never want to stop watching it, no bathroom breaks, no snacking, no breathing. But that's it, I didn't like it and that is just fine. I say watch it yourself and see how you like it!

Cause Mark Ruffalo is still adorbs.
(Yes it's bc he was Avengers and he was cute in that too lol)

Post title

A poem

Low and behold,
Now I'm really old,
how fast the years have gone
what a life I had
now that I think about it it wasn't all that bad

Idk how this ended up as a poem about a old person haha

I'm just doing random crap today so I don't have much to talk about.

Spring Break

Well it is officially Spring Break, I'm not going to be doing anything interesting but I'm glad not to have to go to school for a week! I will probably watch My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and watch YouTube for the rest of the day. I'm just watching the Simpsons now but I must go, I did not do anything different today. I could write a little Haiku though! It's about spring break.

It is now spring break
There is music playing loud
But I am in bed?

Not too good but I tried!

Movie

I went to go see Creed at a cheaper priced movie theatre, it was awesome, Loved the film. And now I finally see why Sylvester Stallone won that Golden Globe for his performance, he was fantastic. And I also see why Michael B. Jordan didn't he was good but he wasn't great, Stallone was great. I see it as this thing I call surface and actors acting. Surface acting is just saying lines and being a bit convincing. actors acting is being a different person, making people believe you aren't there. I'm not saying method acting, I am saying good acting. And M.B.J. he could get there, but he sure isn't there yet. But it was a funny, heartwarming, and inspiring film, liked it a lot.

Other than that I have been laying around all day. And that is my piece, bye!

still think he looks good even tho he's gonna be 70 this year lol

A good-ish day

Today is a Saturday, of course a great day, you get to sleep and do nothing. But I was disappointed today. The church I go to has written a letter to all of the volunteer teachers telling them they should not work in the children's ministry if they have cheated on their spouse, did drugs or had a DWI in the last 18 months. Or if they don't publish church appropriate things on their social media. My mother posted her happiness with the nationwide legalization of  same sex marriage. She told this to the leader and she can no longer teach the children. This makes me upset as she is a wonderful person and the most devout and nice Christian person I know, she has taught those children for years. She doesn't deserve this, and I wish I could do more to help and fight this, I just don't know how.

This pic from one of my favorite films "Brokeback Mountain" is for the gay people and same sex marriage that I wholeheartedly support.

How to whistle

I meet more and more people who cant whistle so I'm writing on how to. I did tons of research, believe me I know.

1. Put your tongue behind you're bottom row of teeth, not too close to the teeth
2. Make a small circle with your mouth
3. Blow!

The characters from Sherlock (BBC), Sherlock and John doing the "Caramelldansen" dance (It was a music video that was popular a long time ago haha). I don't know who made it but if someone finds this just tell me if it's there's!

I See The Light from Tangled (the disney movie)

Stayed home with a migraine from school today and I still feel kind of crappy but I gotta go tomorrow! Anyways my day was very boring, mostly because I feel bad, I just slept and watched My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. I love mlp okay, since I was little I have loved it. Pinkie Pie is my favorite, she sneezes confetti. But yeah I didn't do much of anything. That's why I didn't write yesterday either, I had a migraine, today I just suffered the aftermath, like 24 hours later and I still have a headache. Having a migraine also reminds me how much I hate having them...they feel like death. And all you can do is wimper and take pain meds. I have had them cryonic-ly (is that a word lol)  ever since I got a concussion. Ugh but that's it!

I have been diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder so that doesn't help! But I think I will do okay, it's in french and my pronunciation is lookin pretty good. Anyway all day I have just been watching tv and my favorite soap opera lol. I am currently walking Zoolander haha, my favorite scene is the the catwalk contest, get to see David Bowie too. He was such a beautiful man. Miss him! Well that's pretty much all I got. I'll be back tomorrow!

Is Spring Break here yet?

Really though, as amazing as school is...I need it to be Spring Break now. I need to go to the beach and get me a tan!!! I'm watching TV, as usual, and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug was on. I adore the movie and the actors in it. My favorite characters are the ones played by Stephen Fry and Lee Pace. I have been a avid LOTR fan for years and I was so excited when The Hobbit was coming out! The first one is my favorite. I love Martin Freeman in it too because me and my mom are obsessed with Sherlock, it's a great show, watch it if you can. I love the hair and makeup in the film too! That makes me want to see Mad Max: Fury Road because of the Oscars for makeup and costumes it got. Oh I love films, if I could just watch movies all day I would! But I do have some current favorites I would like to share.

  • The Paperboy (Lee Daniels)
I love how I felt the grimy, sweaty atmosphere through the screen, and Nicole Kidman and John Cusack ROCKED IT!
  • Trainspotting (Danny Boyle)
You have to watch it, I love the dream sequences, the narration, the great writing, and Ewan McGregor only made it better!
  • Neo Ned (Van Fischer)
I never loved Jeremy Renner before I saw this, in fact I though he was a bit of a creep lol, but I adore his acting, and that makes me respect him a bit. It's the love story of a mentally ill neo nazi character (I hate the people in real life, the nazis not the mentally ill),and a black woman but he left his terrible beliefs behind and had a relationship with her and loved her. Great film. Tres bon!
  • Resevoir Dogs (Quentin Tarantino)
Just watch it okay! It's Quentin Tarantino so I don't even have to tell you to expect graphic violence but it surprised me (which I haven't been by a movie in while) and really made my heart beat faster and shocked me. WATCH IT if you haven't!

Hey Hey Hey (A little random)

Sup ya'll, I have been having fun this past week! I went to a hockey game yesterday, it was a really good game and I got to spend time with my bestest friend in the whole wide world (I'm 17 lol, why do I speak this way?). She's in college but we knew each other for two years before she graduated.

I have been worrying with my friends about Trump winning and it is so scary! I don't know how people don't see that he is terrible and isn't a actual politician, ugh. I cant vote yet but my older friends are and I know they wont vote for him, ughhhhhhhhh. He's just terrible!

I'm writing so early (or at all) because I finished my homework like a responsible student! I'm doing English and we are now in the Transcendentalist age, it is really great, I was reading a excerpt from Nature by Ralph Waldo Emerson. His writing is beautiful, not as beautiful as my favorite writer Oscar Wilde, but very beautiful. It made me fall in love with words like I do when I read Wilde. I love words, they make a feel amazing. That's why I want to be writer I guess. Words and stories are some of the most beautiful things I have met in my life, you know, other than laughter, and cute babies. Stephen Fry made me realize this, he's really smart, I admire him so much.

(Stephen Fry: a warrior of language. My knight of knowledge.)

I shall be going now, but I suggest reading something that makes your heart sing!

I'm 17 now!

I turned 17 yesterday! I feel so old! My sis is going off to college (she's 18) and I'm gonna have my own room for the first time in my life. I'm going to miss her (no matter how annoying I find her how lol. But ya, life is coming at me fast but I actually kind of know what I am doing, schooling wise, but life wise I'm quite confused. But I think I will be pretty confused with life for a long time to come. Anyway yeah, that's a little update on me. I promise I will be back tomorrow, for sure.

Guess what day it is!

My blog name

My blog name is "A Taco In A Strange World" as is probably known, I came up with it very randomly: I went on to my Google and saw a choice to make a blog, I have had the word Taco on my mind for about two years now so I thought it would work fine. I looked up a picture and found a Taco from a Google search. After that I went on to a photo editor kind of like Photoshop and I cut out the background, put a gradient of blue behind it, and typed the name of the blog under the taco. An here I am today! So that is the short and uninteresting story of the creation of my blog! Sorry, I gotta work on a essay. See ya!

I hope it isn't too late to say sorry...but I have an excuse (I always do lol). I HAVE SCHOOOL. And I have honors classes and quizzes and friends also, I feel like no one is there to disappoint sometimes because one one comments. But I guess this is just my place, like a diary but not since I want to go to college and they look on all your stuff lol. And I cant promise I wont miss a couple days every once and a while but I will keep doing this. But I must go. It isn't late but I need to write a essay, do my french hw, and watch my soap opera, not specifically in that order haha. You are awesome Ukraine.
